This is Greymouth.

In New Zealand, Greymouth has a reputation for rain. People assume “grey” describes the weather, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Wrong.

This is Greymouth in the late fall, early winter of 2016.

  1. Welcome! Greymouth is named after the Grey River, which is subsequently named after Governor Grey from the 1840s. Greymouth does get a bad rap for its supposed weather and grey skies but as you’ve seen for yourself we get some fabulous days and there isn’t anywhere I’d rather be on a sunny day. Paradise found – besides we think everyone else is just jealous 🙂 Enjoy your time here – so much to explore and hopefully our blog will help point you in the right direction for a few adventures and discoveries.
